Loomis Continues Employee Mask Mandate


On May 13, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) COVID-19 announced that fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting. The CDC also details exceptions to these guidelines that can be mandated by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.

In accordance with this new CDC guideline, Loomis will continue to enforce mask mandates and physical distancing with all employees who work in our branches and who interface with our customers at their locations. These actions comply with the requirements of our customers and to protect the health of our employees.

As Essential Employees under the Cyber Infrastructure Security Agency act of 2018, it is important that we continue to provide vaccination guidance to our employees across our US footprint and encourage vaccination participation through our recently launched vaccine incentive program.

Loomis COVID-19 Employee Vaccination Incentive Program Continues


Loomis continues to encourage all of its employees to get their COVID-19 vaccination, as it is the most effective way to reduce the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and its variants. Our vaccine incentive program, which provides employees a $50 gift card when they provide proof of completing the vaccination process, is currently taking hold at our branches. We will provide more information on our vaccination success rate in the coming weeks.


Customer Branch Audits Access Policy Update

Customers and their delegates who perform audits at Loomis facilities are no longer required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 diagnostic test to be granted access to a Loomis facility. Customers and their delegates still must meet the following requirements to enter the branch:

  • Customers and their delegates at a Loomis facility must pass a Wellness Check screening. The screening consists of a no-contact temperature check and brief questionnaire to determine if the customer or delegates have been exposed to COVID-19 in the last 14 days or if they have any COVID-19 symptoms. Wellness Check results are not recorded.
  • Customers and their delegates must wear an approved face mask within the Loomis facility that fits snugly over their mouth, nose, and chin area at all times. As an additional precautionary measure to limit the spread of COVID-19, masks will also be required for customers and their delegates who are fully vaccinated.

Visitor branch access that is not critical to business operations remains prohibited until further notice, with the exception of Customer Branch Audits.

Updated CDC guidelines recommend that fully vaccinated individuals who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should be tested for COVID-19. Because of this reason, fully vaccinated individuals who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms will not be admitted to a Loomis facility.


COVID-19 Reduction Strategies

The following COVID-19 reduction strategies are in effect for all Loomis employees at our branches and customer service locations:

  • Cloth face masks: Loomis branch management reminds employees to follow mask guidelines at our branches and at customer service locations. Cloth face masks remain mandatory at Loomis for all employees, visitors, and customers with delegates performing audits, including those who are fully vaccinated. Loomis has a limited supply of masks at our branches, so visitors and customers with delegates performing audits are encouraged to bring their own approved cloth face masks.
  • Social distancing: At our branches, social distancing remains in effect in our breakrooms with staggered scheduling for employees to facilitate distancing a minimum of six feet. Large gatherings of employees are prohibited, and when employees are required to stand in line, the floors are marked with floor decals that indicate a minimum distance of six feet.
  • Wellness Check screenings and thermal temperature checks: All Loomis employees, customers with delegates performing audits, and visitors are subject to Wellness Check screenings. Employees, visitors, and customers with delegates who have symptoms will not be allowed into the branch. Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms, including those fully vaccinated against COVID-19, will not be permitted to access the Loomis facility. Loomis branches with large numbers of employees are equipped with contactless fever detection devices to streamline the COVID-19 symptom screening process.
  • Health and hygiene: Branch employees continue to practice COVID-19 health and hygiene protocols as they perform their jobs, including frequent handwashing with soap and water or hand sanitizer, avoiding hand contact of the eyes, nose, mouth, and face, covering the mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
  • Branch sanitization and disinfection: Branches and vehicles are regularly cleaned; if a branch is determined to be in a ‘hot spot’ area, it will be cleaned at a higher frequency. High-touch areas at the branches are sanitized throughout the day, and employees are responsible for sanitizing their work areas with disinfectant wipes at the end of their shifts. Hand-held devices are cleaned throughout the day and night. Disinfectant wipes are kept near branch time clocks so that our employees can disinfect their keypads, and paper towel dispensers are located near facility doors to eliminate physical contact with the door.
  • COVID-19 testing policy:  If a Loomis employee tests positive for COVID-19, our protocols require that any of their contacts be traced and notified. In line with CDC guidelines, no employee will be allowed to return to work until they are free of symptoms.
Monitoring Loomis Employee COVID-19 Health Issues

At Loomis Branches, COVID-19 related health issues are monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week by the Loomis executive team. Branch staffing fluctuations and absenteeism are reviewed daily to ensure the fulfillment of our customers’ contractual service agreements. Loomis continues to secure and maintain the continuity of our branch operations throughout the US.

Our customers will be notified via their Account Manager or as part of the Loomis Business Continuity Emergency Alert System if there is an unavoidable service interruption.
